In this feature we highlight the farmers and processors who bring Biodynamic® products to life — focusing this month on grains. Demeter’s online Biodynamic Directory is a tool for both producers and consumers. We hope this new feature will serve to deepen the connection between consumers and the Biodynamic products they love and trust.

Doudlah Farms Organics
Doudlah Farms Organics is a woman- and farmer-owned enterprise dedicated to advancing organic and regenerative agriculture in the Midwest. Our mission is to produce nutrient-dense, safe, and transparent food while building a resilient food system that supports farmers, consumers, and the environment. We are proudly Quad Certified — USDA Organic, Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC), Demeter Biodynamic, and Tested Clean — demonstrating our commitment to the highest standards of soil health, product integrity, and environmental stewardship.
What sets us apart is our FARMWISE project — Farmers Accessing Resilient Market through Wisconsin Infrastructure for Sustainable Enterprises. This innovative initiative addresses a critical gap in the organic supply chain by creating a state-of-the-art facility to clean, process, package, and distribute organic-regenerative crops. By shortening the supply chain and keeping infrastructure local, FARMWISE empowers farmers with better market access, reduces costs, and returns more value back to the farm.

Products: A variety of Biodynamic® grains and cereals, including Flynn Creek wheat, Einkorn wheat, buckwheat, and popcorn, along with seeds, and beans crops.

Martin Goter
Martin Goter is a fourth-generation farmer stewarding a 550-acre family-owned dry-land farm in central North Dakota where diverse grains and pulse crops are grown with the intention of restoring soil vitality and producing nutrient-dense food. After beginning Biodynamic practices in 2014 and achieving certification in 2019, the farm evolved into a system built on diverse rotations, minimal soil disturbance, and an ongoing commitment to strengthening the biological life of the soil. These practices are supported by biologically driven, on-farm fertility methods that reduce reliance on external inputs and strengthen long-term soil resilience. Flowering and diverse crops are intentionally incorporated to provide habitat and forage for pollinators. Volunteer regrowth after harvest is encouraged, and legumes such as hairy vetch are established in seasonally wet areas to keep living roots in the soil for as much of the year as possible.
Today the operation is certified Biodynamic, Regenerative Organic, Real Organic, and participates in the Soil and Climate Initiative — actively embracing a long-term commitment to environmental integrity and traceable production. Looking ahead, the farm is transitioning toward a fully gluten-free crop portfolio and planning livestock integration to further enhance nutrient cycling and ecological resilience. The vision is to leave the land healthier for future generations while supplying high-quality crops to partners and communities who value both human health and the well-being of the environment.

Stephens Land and Cattle
Stephens Land and Cattle sells bulk certified organic and Biodynamic Turkey Red hard red winter wheat. Turkey wheat has a rich cultural history and distinct bread baking qualities that advanced milling technology and helped farmers create the American breadbasket since the 1800s. The wheat grows tall because it has height traits left intact, as compared to the semi-dwarf wheat that you will find in most varieties on the market.
Stephens families of Kansas have been farmers for five generations, raising wheat and cattle. Demetria’s father Bryce started growing Turkey wheat exclusively in 1994. That’s the same year the farm gained organic certification from the Organic Crop Improvement Association. Bryce achieved Biodynamic certification in 2012.

Demetria carries on that legacy as the Stephens Land and Cattle farm manager near Jennings, Kansas. As markets demand, Demetria would like to diversify Biodynamic products for sale like Snow White hard white winter wheat, an open-pollinated white milo, as well as bison meat. Her ultimate goal as a grain farmer is to sell the best quality food with a Biodynamic system that sustains itself and only exports the extras.
